Basic rumble only. Feel the response; this page cannot measure vibration strength.

Using the controller vibration test

  1. Plug in or pair your controller, then press a controller button to make it visible to the browser.
  2. Select the controller in the toolbar if you have more than one connected.
  3. Compare Strong rumble, Weak rumble and Both. Use Stop to cancel a pulse or Reset to clear the readings.

Reading the results

Strong request and Weak request show the commanded motor levels: each active channel is set to 50%. Duration is the requested pulse length. API response shows whether the browser completed, interrupted or rejected the command. Complete confirms an API response; only you can tell whether the controller actually vibrated. Rumble availability depends on the browser, operating system, controller and connection.

Fixes

If rumble is unavailable, try a direct USB data cable with desktop Chrome or Edge. Close Steam Input, remapping apps and other controller-testing tabs, then reconnect.

If a completed request produces no vibration, check the controller’s vibration settings and battery, then compare with a game that supports rumble. If it also fails there, check firmware updates and the warranty before opening the controller.

FAQ

Can this test PS5 DualSense haptics and adaptive triggers?

It can request basic rumble when the browser exposes it. This page cannot reproduce game-specific DualSense haptics or adaptive-trigger resistance.

Does Strong rumble mean the left motor?

The API names channels by their strong and weak effects. Their physical position and feel depend on the controller, so these buttons do not certify left or right motor wiring.

Why does my controller appear but rumble is unavailable?

Reading buttons and driving vibration use different API capabilities. A browser may expose controller inputs while providing no dual-rumble output for that device.

Can I test controller vibration over Bluetooth?

Only if that controller, system and browser expose rumble over Bluetooth. A controller working wirelessly in a game does not guarantee browser rumble support.

Will this vibrate my phone?

No. The test targets the selected gamepad’s vibration actuator and does not use the phone vibration API.
